Camping in Sri Lanka can be the best experience you can have while being close to nature. Amidst the scenic jungle location you have a chance to go for a rainforest camping which will allow you to get deeply absorbed in the sound of the water being closer to the fall. One can couple the camping expedition with other water activities such as water rafting, bird watching and trekking to waterfalls amongst others.

Whale Watching

The ever smiling, mischievous dolphins will put on a show while some of the oldest and the largest sea creatures, the humpback and the blue whales, will nonchalantly glide past you, when you embark on a whale/ dolphin watching excursion off the Southern, Eastern or the West coast of Sri Lanka. With the whale watching season in Mirissa being in full swing and many local and foreign tourists gathering to the Mirissa harbor, The Sri Lanka Coast Guards had increased their vigilance in monitoring the implementation of Sea Mammals Observation, Regulation and Control Regulations.

Snake Farms

Great… We recommend you to visit the snake farm in Weligama if you are somewhere in the Southern. This is a small farm which is maintained in a house by the owner itself, he is a brave man to handle all those poisonous snakes, cobras, vipers and many more… The best thing over here is that you get the opportunity to take pictures with the non venomous ones. This guy who is maintaining this snake farm is holding presidential awards as well, he also catches the reptiles who enter houses and is also a doctor for snake bites.

Culture & Heritage

From enormous dagobas (dome-shaped structures) and remains of ancient buildings in the ruined cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, to the awesome stairway to the temple at Dambulla and the sensual frescoes of heavenly maidens at the palace at the rock of Sigiriya, visitors can experience these World Heritage Sites within a compact area called the Cultural Triangle. In the hill country lies the former royal capital of Kandy, home to the Dalada Maligawa or Sacred Temple of the Tooth, which houses the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha.
